英文中有双重含义的 9 个常见语句

在英文中，有些英文句子并不单只是表面上的意思。例如“See where I’m coming from?”可不是指问对方自己从哪里来的！I see!也不是指看见了什么，而是指我明白了！

1. You don’t want to do that!

在现实生活中，若想劝阻某人去做某事，会使用这句话，这句话表达的意思是“You shouldn’t do it!”

2. He can’t help himself

无法抗拒、无法自拔之意。

3. Shut up!

有时候，说这句话不是真的要对方住口，可能是表达惊讶、兴奋或不敢置信等情绪。

4. I see!

我懂了/我明白了

5. See where I’m coming from?

这可不是在问对方自己从哪儿来，真正的意思是「你知道我为什么会这么说吗？」

ex.

A: I am an Indian and I don’t like racial slurs, do you know where I’m coming from?

给对方一些权限做一些事情，和“You should…”比起来，这比较像是柔性、礼貌的建议。

ex. You may want to eat some sandwiches.

7. Tell me about it!

意味著「是！我知道你在说什么，因为我也有同样的经历！」

ex.

You: “My little sister is real nightmare, she constantly makes demands to our mom and cries if she doesn’t get what she wants!”

Your friend: “Tell me about it! I can completely relate to that because I also have a little sister who’s behaving that way!”

8. It doesn’t hurt to…

这并不是表示不会伤害到什么，而是指做这件事是对你有益的，所以值得去做。

ex.It doesn’t hurt to ask.

9. How do you find this…?

除了字面上的意思外，这句话有另外一种解读「你怎么看待这个？」
