1. to fancy 喜欢某人/想要做某事

I noticed that you kept eyeing him. Do you fancy him? 我发现你一直偷看他，是不是喜欢他啊?

I really fancy fish and chips tonight. 我今晚很想吃炸鱼跟薯条。

2. to dob sb in 告状

I can’t believe Eva dobbed me in to the teacher for skipping class yesterday! 我不敢相信Eva竟然跑去跟老师打小报告说我昨天跷课!

3. to chat sb up 调情/说服(较少用)

Wow, you pay me a lot of compliments tonight. Are you trying to chat me up? 你今晚怎么一直称讚我，是对我有意思吗?

The bouncer won’t let us in. Maybe you should go and try to chat him up. 夜店门口的保镳不让我们进去，或许你可以试著说服他。

4. to be up for sth 想做什么事

We are going ice skating tonight. If you’re up for it, you can come. 我们今晚要去溜冰，如果你想要的话，可以一起来。

5. to pop somewhere 突然出现一下又消失

I’m just going to pop to the shop. Do you want anything? 我要去买个东西，你有需要什么吗?

6. to go on about 一直滔滔不绝的说(通常为负面意思)

What’s she going on about again? 她又在那篇长篇大论什么了?

*有时可省略go

7. to faff around (faff) 拖延、耍废/表现的很像神经病

Are you faffing around again? 你又在耍废了吗?

Stop faffing! 不要再装疯了!

8. to scoff 狼吞虎嚥

I scoffed my dinner and went up for seconds. 我狼吞虎嚥的将盘子清空，又再去盛了一盘。

9. to crack on with 快速开始/调情(较新的定义、不正式)

Let’s crack on with the lesson. 我们赶紧进入主题吧。

10. to skive (off) 早退、跷课/班

I’m going to skive off this last lesson because the teacher just reads off the slides. 我要跷掉最后一堂课，因为老师也只是照著投影片唸。
